ACR vs GGPoker
The rakeback grinder's room against the recreational giant. They're built for different players, and it shows at every table.
Americas Cardroom is the flagship of the Winning Poker Network and the natural home of the volume grinder: tracking software allowed, up to 24 tables at once, and a loyalty ladder that tops out at 65%. GGPoker is the biggest site in the world and built for the opposite crowd: HUDs and solvers banned, fast casual formats, action around the clock. I've played WPN on and off since 2017 and GG is one of my main rooms today. Here's how they line up.

At the micros and low stakes the two are nearly identical full ring ($3 each), and GG is actually cheaper four-handed. From NL100 up GG's full-ring cap climbs to $3.50 and then $4 while ACR's stays at $3, so for mid-stakes full-ring players ACR is the cheaper seat. Both give a discount the headline number hides: GG rakes nothing on pots that end preflop, ACR rakes nothing until a flop is dealt. Rakeback: the whole reason ACR exists for regulars
ACR's program is the most generous published ladder among the major rooms: take a flat 27% with no conditions, or chase Elite Benefits to 65%. Add the weekly races and a deal on top and the effective cost of playing there gets very low — which is exactly why the tables fill with people doing the same sum. GG's Ocean Rewards typically lands active players between 20% and 40%, and its Player Value Index personalises the figure: tight winning regulars drift toward the low end, recreational-style players toward the high end. Two ways to play ACR — and the honest trade-off
From my own time on WPN there are two sensible approaches. Keep ACR as one of several rooms in your rotation, log a few good tables a day during US hours, and collect a solid flat rakeback plus a deal on top. Or go full grinder: accept a lower win rate and bigger swings against a tougher field, push your way to Elite, and let 65% plus a deal cushion the variance. Can I have both?
Yes, and it's a common pairing: GG for the softer games, ACR for cheap volume and the rakeback ladder. They're different companies, so holding one account on each is fine. Never hold two on the same room.
Is ACR's field really that tough?
Tougher than GG's, yes — the rakeback attracts regulars and tracking software is allowed. It's still very playable during US peak hours, when the recreational players are on, and table selection fixes most of the rest. It's a poor first room for a beginner, which is why it isn't on the beginners list.
