Regulated real-money poker in the US is a handful of states, and two operators account for most of the traffic. WSOP.com, run by Caesars, links Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania into one pool — the largest interstate-shared network in the country. BetMGM Poker runs on the partypoker US engine, shares its tables with Borgata Poker, and pools New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Both are, in my experience, great purely American rooms: weak regulars and a lot of US recreational money. Here's how to choose.

Rakeback: WSOP publishes a ladder, BetMGM leans on the bonus
WSOP.com's Poker Rewards is a clear, published ladder: 2 Action Player Points per dollar of rake or fees, with tiers at 8%, 20%, 25% and 32% for Champions Club at 20,000+ APPs a year. A regular who plays most days sits comfortably in Silver or Elite. BetMGM's iRewards is thinner as a straight percentage — around 10% is the commonly reported figure — but the effective rate jumps to roughly 42% while you're clearing the welcome bonus, so the first stretch of play is very well rewarded. Both also feed their casino loyalty programs, which is worth real money if you actually stay at Caesars or MGM properties. BetMGM or Borgata?
Same tables, same liquidity, same rake — the choice is purely which rewards program you'd rather earn in. Borgata is only in NJ and PA and is tied to the Atlantic City property; BetMGM adds Michigan and West Virginia and the national MGM Rewards ecosystem. Don't open both: that's two accounts on one network.
Can I play WSOP.com and BetMGM at the same time?
Yes — they're separate operators on separate networks, so an account on each is fine and, in NJ, PA and MI, sensible: two pools means twice the tables to pick from.
What about PokerStars in the US?
The standalone PokerStars US apps were retired in April 2026; it now runs inside the FanDuel app with a merged NJ/MI/PA pool, and its rewards moved to FanDuel's system. Details on the PokerStars on FanDuel page.
