PokerPlanets
PokerPlanets is one of the newest rooms on this site: a standalone operator running its own proprietary software rather than a skin on a shared network. It opened in beta in April 2025 under a Curaçao licence, and its starting player base came from PokerStars Sochi — the Russian-facing PokerStars client whose accounts were transferred across when it wound down. That heritage shapes the room: CIS and Eastern European recreational traffic, short-handed tables only, and no support for HUDs or tracking software.
The room entered beta on 29 April 2025, headquartered in Willemstad and licensed in Curaçao. It is not affiliated with PokerStars, but its launch was built around a migration: players from PokerStars Sochi were offered transferred accounts and the same welcome bonus as new sign-ups, which gave PokerPlanets an instant pool of recreational players used to a PokerStars-style client.
The software is its own — Windows, macOS, iOS, Android (sideloaded, not on Google Play) and a browser version — with a space theme running through everything from the Jupiter Cup and Saturn Cup tournaments to the Rewards tiers (Satellite, Comet, Asteroid, Moon, Planet, Star). Formats lean recreational: 4- to 6-max cash with antes, straddles and Bomb Pots, a fast-fold format called Teleport, three-handed Spins with multipliers up to x12,000, and a tournament schedule built on knockouts and Mystery Bounties.
Like every new room, its early months were marked by thin traffic and overlaid guarantees. That's the trade: a small pool, but a soft one, with nobody able to run a HUD on you. It's a room to watch rather than a room to move your whole volume to — and one where a good rakeback deal matters, because the base program only reaches its 40% ceiling at very high volume.
