WPT Global launched in April 2022 as the online home of the World Poker Tour brand — run by an independent operator under licence from WPT's owner, so it shares a name with the live tour and the US sweepstakes site ClubWPT but not a player pool. Within two years it had climbed into the top three rooms in the world for cash-game traffic, almost entirely on recreational players from Asia, Brazil, Canada and the non-regulated parts of Europe.
The lobby is built for that crowd: No-Limit Hold'em, PLO and Short Deck cash games, a fast-fold format called Pace Poker, jackpot sit-and-gos (Global Spins), and a tournament schedule heavy on knockouts, Mystery Bounties and the daily WPT Crown events. The hook for many players is the satellite ladder: weekly feeders from a few dollars up to "Passports" for the $40 million guaranteed WPT World Championship at the Wynn.
Cash rake is a low 4%, HUDs and trackers are banned, and tables are capped at four at a time. The flip side is an ecosystem the room actively manages: a classification system tags winning regulars as "professional" and can shut them out of external rakeback, and the site has fought — publicly and not always gracefully — a long-running battle with bot rings. Not available in the USA, UK, or the regulated EU markets.
